In loving memory and with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved daughter and sister Yvonne “Dancing Queen” Reyes of Alpine, Texas, on July 5, 2024, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Yvonne was born in Van Horn, Texas, on October 21, 1964. She never gave up on her faith to the Lord, stating, “Miracles do happen.” In the end, the cancer spread rapidly to where the treatments were not effective. We thank her team of doctors and medical staff for their efforts at the University Medical Center of El Paso.
Yvonne, a 1984 graduate of Alpine High School was a mainstay of Pizza Hut for over 30 years, won Best Waitress in the Big Bend area in 2010 and was recognized as August 2021 Team Member of the Month at Porter’s, now Lowe’s, store.
Yvonne had a passion for dance that lit up her life and those around her. Her positivity, generosity and beautiful smile touched the lives of many she met. Yvonne’s love for dance was matched only by her love for her family and friends.
