EL PASO — Texas Sen. César Blanco announced that his office is now accepting applications to the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program is a state-funded initiative aimed at supporting students who aspire to serve in the Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces.
The scholarship assists with educational expenses and encourages the next generation of leaders in military service. Blanco will nominate one deserving student from Senate District 29 for an opportunity to further their education and serve their country. Eligible students include those who are enrolled at a public or private (nonprofit) institution of higher education in Texas and in good standing in a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program or another undergraduate officer commissioning program as certified by the institution. Applications are open now through August 15.
“The Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program is a remarkable initiative that supports students committed to a career in the armed services,” Blanco said. “As we open applications for this year, I am proud to be part of a program that not only helps cover the costs of college but also fosters the development of future leaders who will serve our nation with honor and dedication. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.” For more details about the scholarship, search the web for Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP).
