MARFA — The Marfa Chamber of Commerce invites locals and visitors to celebrate the 37th Annual Marfa Lights Festival, taking place Labor Day weekend at the Presidio County Courthouse. This year’s event promises a dazzling array of activities for all ages.
For those seeking a bit of friendly competition, the community is invited to participate in the first annual pie baking competition and the annual float decorating contest. There will also be plenty of fun for all with an entertainment area featuring a dunk tank, mechanical bull and bounce houses.
Another new addition to the festival is the community-elected grand marshal. After receiving over 600 votes, the winner will be officially unveiled at the Saturday parade, beginning at 10 a.m.
The weekend will feature a lineup of talented performers, including Bonnie Montgomery, The Grand Tourists, Magician Mago Krypto, Asalto, Art Tigerina and more. Ballet Folklorico will close out the festival with a special performance on Sunday morning.
