MARFA — The Blackwell School Alliance, National Park Foundation, National Parks Conservation Association and the National Park Service will celebrate the recent park designation with a Blackwell School National Historic Site Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The event takes place on Saturday, September 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Blackwell School at 501 S. Abbott St. in Marfa. The event will feature free food and refreshments, live entertainment, and special visitors from the U.S. Department of the Interior and the National Park Service. 

Then head to the U.S.O. Building for a community dance featuring The Tip band from El Paso from 8 p.m. until midnight. (A $10/person suggested donation may be made at the door, and the event is BYOB.)
