Our beloved Mario Tejada passed away at the age of 58. He was born on January 19, 1966, to Camilo and Lorina P. Tejada. He was a devoted member of the Catholic Church.
Mario attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Marfa High School in 1986. He took meticulous pride in repairing and maintaining anything from gardening to small engines and would always be there for anyone who needed his help. His hobbies included fishing, music and was a herbalist in his own right.
He had his theories of space and the unknown. He appreciated the friends who came around and visited, his nephews and nieces whom he teased and loved to be around with, and his son, Elijah, whom he deeply loved and gave him encouragement and strength to carry on. We couldn’t have asked for a better brother, uncle, cousin, father, and friend to those who knew him.
His memory will live on in all of our hearts. Mario was preceded in death by his father, Camilo Tejada, and mother, Lorina P. Tejada. Survivors include his son, Elijah Tejada; brothers, Jaime and Jose Antonio Tejada; sisters, MarÃa Delourdes Medrano (Ismael) and Teresa Adriana Mitchell (William); three nephews; three nieces; several cousins; an uncle and aunt; and many friends.
A celebration of life for Mario Tejada was held on August 30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, Texas. Rosary was at 10 a.m., followed by Mass and a procession to Merced Cemetery.
Remembrances and condolences may be shared with the family at Mobile Mortician of Texas’ website: www.mmoftexas.com.
