The U.S. Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector honored the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks with a solemn remembrance ceremony at the U.S. Border Patrol Station in Alpine on Wednesday.
The event included a moment of silence, a wreath-laying at the station’s 9/11 memorial, and remarks from U.S. Border Patrol leadership and local officials.
A centerpiece of the ceremony was the Alpine Station’s 9/11 artifact — a 1,300-pound piece of steel from the World Trade Center. This significant artifact, the only one of its kind in the Big Bend Sector, serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and strength of the American people.
