MARFA — Miguel Meyers — the pasty-faced serial killer known for his sometimes stylish, sometimes thought-provoking poses for photographs in iconic Marfa locations — appears to be retiring after being seen arrested by police.

At deadline, it was unclear if Miguel was arrested only on charges of stalking or for “obstructing a public roadway” while taking a selfie on Highland Avenue, or a more serious crime, like murder.

Lesley Villarreal — owner of Love, Marfa — is Miguel’s photographer and muse, a mimic of the famous killer in the slasher Halloween movie series. Miguel is her husband Junie Villareal. “We are retiring the series after this year but do have plans to showcase all the images we’ve shot over the last 8 years,” Lesley told The Big Bend Sentinel. “We might do a ‘best of’ calendar in 2026.” In other words, Lesley said, “There could be a sequel.”

The 2025 Miguel Myers Calendar will be available at 10 a.m. today at lovemarfa.com

Editor’s note: Just to be clear, Miguel was not really arrested.
