MARFA — The work of Far West Texas photographers is the subject of the second exhibition at new local arts space Club Nowhere, where an opening reception will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 8.

Club Nowhere is located at 401 S. Highland Avenue, the yellow house next to Cactus Liquors. It opened recently as a “safe space to promote and encourage the creativity of working artists in this community,” per the venue’s website.

The photography exhibition will be up until December 1, with open times and special events — dates forthcoming — taking place throughout the month of November.

Photographers featured include Alaina Walton, Clara Benson, Cody Bjornson, Cookie Stone, Daniel Marty, Desiree Espada, Hannah Gentiles, Harry Crofton, JD Garcia, Joe Salinas, Kathleen Shafer, Kay Ramming, Lesley Villarreal, Liz Potter, Logan Caldbeck, Rob Brill, Rowdy Dugan, Sarah M. Vasquez, Shea Carley, Tirando Rostros and Valerie Santerli.

Chris Ramming, who used to head up the defunct Casita Bar, is renting the house, and said the project is still in its early days, but, “The idea of this space, currently, is to encourage and showcase creativity and work of regional artists.”
