TERLINGUA — The Big Bend Citizens Alliance is open for proposals from independent contractors between now and November 18, 2024. Make a difference in your community. Help manage and promote the upcoming Big Bend Mobile Library in south Brewster County.
The alliance’s mission is to successfully launch and operate a mobile library, providing library services to south Brewster County residents at a pre-identified rotation of locations, and at the home-base location of Canyon View Community Park in Study Butte.
The selected party will be responsible for the following:
• Create and maintain a regular, consistent schedule of locations and hours for the mobile library.
• Advertise location and hours in appropriate outlets such as the Terlingua Moon and the Big Bend Public Library’s Facebook page.
• Coordinate with drivers to relocate the mobile library as needed to maintain the schedule.
• Liaise with designated location managers to facilitate the setup and removal of the mobile library.
• Organize, coordinate and supervise volunteers to assist in running the mobile library during open hours, including tracking volunteer hours.
• Monitor and respond to email and telephone inquiries pertaining to the mobile library.
