Michelle Billings’ “#2, Big Bend NP.” Billings is the Artwalk honored artist this year.

ALPINE — Artwalk Alpine, West Texas’ longest-running arts festival celebrates its 31st year on November 22-23, 2024. This award-winning street festival transforms the main streets of Alpine into a vibrant showcase of artistic talent and community spirit.

This year the festival features Michele Billings as the honored artist. Originally from Maine, Billings draws inspiration from her outdoor adventures, crafting stunning paintings of natural landscapes, wildlife, and a special focus on ravens. A lifelong artist, Billings blends lettering and bold graphics, which has led to a successful career in painting signs, murals and fine art. Her work beautifully captures the essence of the Big Bend region, making her a perfect ambassador for Artwalk Alpine. Billings’ art can be seen online and in person at the Big Bend Gallery in Alpine.

Artwalk Alpine invites attendees from near and far to enjoy a weekend filled with artistic exploration. Attendees will have the opportunity to view a diverse array of artworks, learn about local artists, shop at local businesses, and savor delicious food and drinks while enjoying live music. The festival will feature dozens of local artists on 5th Street and Kishmish Plaza, extended hours for 19 local businesses, and performances by nine Texas bands on the Michelob Ultra Stage — all free of charge.
