Adobe tour highlights holiday season for Historic Alpine
ALPINE — Join Historic Alpine on December 7 for “Navidad en Los Adobes,” a festive holiday event where you can tour some of Alpine’s most historic adobes and churches, beautifully adorned for the season. In addition, enjoy a special Historic Alpine photo installation curated by historian Matt Walter at the First United Methodist Church.
Our resident adobe expert, David Keller, will also host a talk at the historic Ritchey Hotel, offering insight into the significance of adobe architecture and its importance to Alpine’s history.
This celebration showcases Alpine’s rich heritage and unique adobe architecture, giving you an unforgettable glimpse into the beauty and history of Alpine during the holiday season.
The event is a fundraiser for Historic Alpine, Inc. Attendees are encouraged to remember that all ticket sales are final, private homes are not wheelchair or stroller accessible and avoid high heels that can damage historic wood floors. Tickets are $25. For more information, visit historicalpine.org/historic-alpine-holiday-home-tour/.

MSA kids art show and ornament party to feature Santa
MARFA — Alert: Santa Claus is coming to town. The annual Marfa Studio of Arts kids art show, featuring art by the elementary school students of Marfa ISD, will take place at the MSA Gallery at 106 E. San Antonio Street on Saturday, December 7, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be cookies, an ornament creation station and the opportunity to have your child’s photograph taken with Santa Claus (AKA David Beebe). There will also be a lot of cool, creative art made by our community’s very young artists, who have been learning about color, narrative, and 3D sculptural fabrication.
This is the 20th year that Marfa Studio Arts has organized and taught art classes through the SITES program at Marfa ISD. Besides coming down to have fun, attendees are encouraged to make your end-of-year donations, which will go directly to our mission: bringing artists from our community into the classroom and teaching kids art!
