Lillian V. Arce, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 99. Born on October 30, 1925, in Presidio, Texas, Lillian was the daughter of Victorina and Enrique Vasquez.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband of over sixty years, Hector Armando Arce. After graduating from Marfa High School, she attended Draughon Business School in San Antonio where she completed her professional studies in bookkeeping and accounting. After returning to Marfa, she held positions at Baygent Coaches and Baker Jewelers.
Lillian’s legacy lives on through her children, Elizabeth Rourke (Michael), Linda Gonzalez (Ron), and Dr. Hugh Mark Arce. She was a proud grandmother to Chandra Gonzalez (Carlos) and Danika Melia (RJ), and a cherished great-grandmother to Cade Leisering (Kayla), Madison Gonzalez, Riley Melia, Davis Melia, Jack Melia, and great-great grandmother to Jude Leisering.
A woman of great warmth and strength, Lillian was deeply loved by her family and friends. Her nurturing spirit and dedication to her loved ones created a lasting impact on all who knew her. Lillian will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of family, and her unwavering faith.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to those who have shared in her life and legacy. Lillian’s memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, who find comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
The family received friends on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
Rosard was held on December 29, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary. Mass was held on Monday, December 30 at Holy Cross Mausoleum in San Antonio.
