MARFA — Are you interested in the West Texas ecoregion? Do you want to learn more about stewarding native grasslands as well as Chihuahuan Desert plants and soil? If so, we encourage you to apply to the Chinati Foundation’s Grassland Restoration Practicum taking place April 14-18.

The practicum is a five-day, paid opportunity for those interested in West Texas ecology and grassland ecosystems. Through expert-led tours of surrounding gardens, greenhouses, conservation sites and hands-on fieldwork, participants will gain skills to understand the Chihuahuan Desert’s grasslands and learn how to better contribute to their conservation.

This is a one-week program totaling roughly 40 hours. Participants will earn $15/hr and will receive lunch daily. Transportation for site visits and field trips will also be provided. Enrollment is limited to five participants. Women and gender nonconforming people are strongly encouraged to apply. To apply, visit chinati.org/grasslands.

Applications close February 21. Questions can be emailed lsmith@chinati.org This program is generously supported by #startsmall.
