ALPINE –– The Sul Ross State University book club, the Lobo Literati League, will meet on March 6 for “An Evening with Sid Balman Jr.,” writer in residence at SRSU and a Pulitzer-nominated national security correspondent. Balman served as a war correspondent during conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
Balman will share readings from his novel Algorithms, a post-apocalyptic novel set primarily here in Far West Texas. He will also read from his current work-in-progress, The Mural, which is about the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde in May 2022. As part of his presentation, he will share the issues that underlie most of his fiction, and then he will open the floor for questions.
“An Evening with Sid Balman Jr.” will start at 7 p.m. at Espino Center on the Sul Ross State University campus. The event is open to all and is free of charge.
