Benjamin Lee Sanchez, born on November 5, 1976, in Alpine, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska. Benjamin was a talented artist who expressed his creativity through drawing and tattoos. His artistic spirit was a significant part of his life, and he touched many lives with his unique and beautiful artwork. He was known for his ability to capture emotions and stories through his art, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who saw his work. Ben was a hard worker and showed his talent not only with art work but also as a landscaper. He loved working with his hands and sharing his talent.
In addition to his artistic talents, Benjamin was known for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special and loved. His friends and family will always remember his warm smile and the joy he brought into their lives.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe P. Sanchez; uncles Henry Sanchez and Danny Lujan; and grandparents Harry Joe and Lydia Lujan. Ben is survived by his mother, Laura Lujan; two daughters, Suzette Sanchez (28) and Esmerelda Sanchez (1); sister Joann Sanchez; and niece Mackenzie Sanchez as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Benjamin’s memory will live on through his art and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held in his honor on April 5, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church Hall in Marfa, Texas, at 1 p.m. His family would love for those who love him to come out and share stories and most of all show love for him.
