SAN ANTONIO — The Hunt Gallery in San Antonio will open a new show next week highlighting recent paintings of two of the Big Bend region’s most accomplished painters — Mary Baxter and David Caton. The show, titled Scenes of the Southwest, opens Thursday evening, April 10, and runs through May 10.
Baxter has lived in and painted the Big Bend area for the past 30 years, and Caton, who lives in Utopia, has made frequent painting trips to the Chihuahuan Desert for decades. They are considered among Texas’ top landscape painters.
