MARFA — Multidisciplinary artist Sage Lilly will debut a solo exhibition, Small Engine Express, on Saturday, April 26, at 5 p.m. at Do Right Hall, 110 West Dallas St.

Rooted in rust belt grit and the vast skies of West Texas, Small Engine Express is a visual exploration of labor, memory and identity. Lilly draws from a hybrid background in illustration, design, and construction work — as well as a side hustle fixing small engines — to create work that hums with texture, tension, and narrative.

The exhibition weaves together the aesthetics of tool sheds, shop manuals and Americana with the artist’s own personal history, creating a world where grease-stained hands and quiet moments of reflection coexist.

Guests can expect tasty surprises and a uniquely Marfa experience at the opening.
