ALPINE — Archival area photographs are the subject of a new exhibition, Snapshots in Time: Life in Brewster County, opening from 5 to 7 p.m. April 30 at the Museum of the Big Bend.
The evening will feature light hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, live music and presentations. The historical photo exhibit was created in partnership with Crossroads: Change in Rural America, part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibition series.
Curated by local historian Matt Walter, the exhibit showcases photographs from the Brewster County Collections and Archives of the Big Bend. It captures everyday moments, landscapes, and community events that reflect the rich cultural and historical heritage of Far West Texas.
