LOBO — D.U.S.T. is a gathering of humans in appreciation of nature, the arts, live music, and community — set out in the beautiful desert wasteland of Lobo Flats, about nine miles from the old Lobo Ghost Town. D.U.S.T. is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend, May 23 to 26, with  camping Friday to Monday and music Friday through Sunday, starting around dusk.

There will be live music and performances, artworks and installations (including sound and video), and access to Matthew Gray’s large-scale outdoor sculptures a couple of miles down the road.

Campers and daytime visitors should bring whatever they need: food, water and a chair. We’ll have grills going and a very basic outdoor kitchen set up. Sharing food and drink is lovely (and encouraged), but not required.

What’s offered: a place to camp, see some art, hear some music, and enjoy the raw wonder of this place. Yes, there is shade.

Inspired by gatherings at the old Lobo ghost town from 2001 to 2023, Wini Hunton-Chan and Adam Bork hope to bring people together in the Desolate Unique Solitary Terrain (D.U.S.T.) of Lobo Flats to enjoy art, music, camping and good company.

For anyone wanting to show art or perform, space and time are still available. Contact Wini or Adam at dustlobo@gmail.com. Finalized music schedule and art map will be posted on the website a few days prior. For directions, an art map, and the music schedule, visit dustlobo.com Instagram: @dustlobo.
