ALPINE — The City of Alpine is thrilled to announce its remarkable success in the recent Texas Travel Awards, where it proudly took home an impressive six accolades. These statewide and small market honors highlight Alpine’s unique blend of natural beauty, vibrant arts scene, rich history, and community spirit.
The awards include the statewide Best Views honor for Hancock Hill, acknowledging the stunning panoramas accessible just a short walk from Sul Ross State University. Our town’s vibrant character was also recognized with Best Public Art for Alpine’s Downtown Murals, showcasing the community-driven artistic endeavors that have transformed our streets into an outdoor gallery.
The Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University earned Best Museum, recognizing its high-caliber exhibits and commitment to preserving our regional history and art. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Big Bend Stargazing was named Best Outdoor Activity, celebrating the exceptional dark skies of the Greater Big Bend International Dark Sky Reserve.
Our unique landmark, The Desk on Hancock Hill, was crowned Best Instagrammable Spot, inviting visitors and locals alike to capture its distinctive charm. Finally, The Ritchey was recognized as Best Music Venue, affirming its role as a key part of Alpine’s music scene, hosting local and touring acts.
