MARFA — The Helen Frankenthaler Foundation announced last week that it has awarded $3.4 million in Frankenthaler Climate Initiative (FCI) grants to 74 visual arts organizations across the United States supporting the advancement of energy efficiency and clean energy projects.
Ballroom Marfa was awarded $25,000 to develop a plan to preserve the historic 1920s ballroom while simultaneously addressing climate change by implementing the necessary energy efficient upgrades.
Established by the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation in 2021, FCI has helped over 300 museums and arts institutions across the U.S. to implement transformative climate solutions — funding over $17.5 million in projects in 40 states.
