MARFA –– You can help students in Marfa ISD by giving them the tools they need to succeed. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is collecting school supplies for Marfa students in pre-K through high school.
There is a donation box at the Dollar General store on Hwy 90 East. School supplies may also be dropped off at St. Paul’s Church, the rock church behind the courthouse. Cash donations are also appreciated. Last year the church ran out of everything, so it is raising money to increase the supplies this year.
You may donate online at stpaulsmarfa.org, by mail at PO Box 175, Marfa, TX 79843, or leave your donation at the church.
Backpacks stuffed with school supplies will be given away at St. Paul’s on Saturday, August 2, beginning at 10 a.m. Our annual Ice Cream Social will be combined with the giveaway. Both are free and everyone is invited.
Literacy is one of the most important skills needed to succeed in our society. This year’s give away is especially important to families who have been affected by job loss and budget cuts. Providing school supplies for children in our town reduces a major barrier to learning AND makes you feel great about contributing to help children start the school year with the tools they need!
Should you have questions, please email stpaulsmarfatx@gmail.com or call 432-386-2433 or 214-862-7292. Thank you for your contribution and mark your calendar for School Supplies and Ice Cream Giveaway on August 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Everyone is welcome.
