MARFA — Yes, folks, The Marfa Gong Show is happening! Come by Planet Marfa on Saturday, November 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. — come to participate in a zany rendition of the “talent show,” or just to watch. This is pure fun, to witness all the iconoclastic talents in our town.
The show sponsors are currently seeking participants to be featured in the show. However, this is not the talent that everyone knows you for — this is your hidden talent, your bizarre party play, your most eccentric predilection; maybe it’s your stupid human trick. Nothing is too weird to delight the judges and the crowd. Is it a circus trick? An instrument we never knew you could(n’t) play? Some gibberish that was picked up by your own antenna? Some twisted contortions? The possibilities are endless.Bring your wildest stuff, and local celebrity judges will be on hand to assess the mayhem. And was it mentioned that there will be a GONG? If you were born after 1975, you may want to check out The Gong Show on YouTube so you know what the heck it’s all about.
