Balmorhea overpowers Marfa 58 – 12
The Marfa Shorthorns were stifled by Balmorhea’s relentless defense on Friday night, managing only two scores while the Bears piled on points in nearly every quarter. Despite moments of offensive spark, Marfa could not slow Balmorhea’s momentum, falling 58–12.
Marfa’s highlights included a 35-yard touchdown pass from Aiden Alvarez to Austin McGary in the second quarter and a powerful 50-yard run by Manny Dominguez late in the third. Those were the only two times the Shorthorns broke through the Balmorhea defense, as turnovers and quick strikes swung the game heavily in favor of the Bears.
