Ballroom Marfa is inviting music lovers to a special performance Friday, November 14, by the innovative instrumentalist Hayden Pedigo. He will be joined by guests Jens Kuross and Nicolas Hurt.
Ballroom describes Pedigo as “man, myth, master of disguise, un-picker, finger-picker, absurdist, perfectionist.”
Pedigo is known as much for his absurdist sensibility as he is for his perfectionist approach to the guitar. An Amarillo native, he has become an innovator within the instrumental genre, consistently challenging the stereotypical.
Pedigo will be showcasing his new album, I’ll Be Waving As You Drive Away, which he describes as more than a straightforward solo guitar record—calling it, in a sense, “a micro-dose psychedelic album.” On this latest release, Pedigo is unafraid to push the parameters of American primitive guitar, creating a world where the music is, as Ballroom described, “fuzzed-up and glimmering.”
