Yosdy Valdivia’s “Dos Amigos” will be featured at Artwalk.

Alpine

Artwalk Alpine, West Texas’ longest-running arts festival will celebrate its 32nd year on November 21–22. The street festival transforms the main streets of Alpine into a vibrant showcase of artistic talent and community spirit.

This year’s featured artist is Yosdy Valdivia, a visual artist known for her evocative paintings and dreamlike landscapes. Born in Texas in 1998, Valdivia earned her BFA from Sul Ross State University and began her career in Presidio, Texas, where she now lives and works. She runs Galeria Raices, her own creative space that serves as a hub for artistic expression and collaboration.

Her work has been exhibited across the U.S. and internationally, including in Mexico, Belgium (The Color of the Sage, 2022), and Austria (Memories of Life and Death, 2023). Valdivia has also created public murals along the U.S.–Mexico border in Presidio and Ojinaga, Mexico.

Her paintings explore themes of longing, uncertainty and fate using fluid, abstract imagery to capture the fleeting beauty of emotion and perception.

Artwalk guests can view diverse artworks, meet artists, shop at downtown businesses, and enjoy food and drinks while taking in live performances throughout the festival.

The event will feature dozens of local artists on 5th Street and 5th Street Plaza, with extended hours for 16 local businesses and performances by eight Texas bands—all free of charge in Alpine.
