County Chair Ramon Rodriguez Aranda announced last week that he is offering resources and assistance to candidates to file for local, county seats in the March Democratic Primary.

Filing Window & Where to File

  • First day to file: November 8, 2025
  • Last day to file: December 8, 2025, at 6 p.m.
  • Where to file: With the county chair, Ramon Rodriguez (not with the county clerk)

Aranda said all candidates must schedule an appointment with him to submit their completed, notarized forms and filing fees or petitions.

Official Resources from the Texas Secretary of State (SOS) include:

Filing fees for most county offices (county judge, county clerk, county treasurer, and county commissioner) are $750, but candidates can file a petition with 50 signatures in lieu of fees. The filing fee for justice of the peace is $375 or a petition with 50 signatures, and there is no fee or petition required to file for Democratic Party chair.
