Marfa
Runners welcome! Walkers welcome! Kids welcome! Pets welcome! Bring your strollers and wagons! Hit the streets to burn off the heavy fixings from the day before with the 2025 Marfa Turkey Trot on Friday, November 28, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The trot is a 5K (3.2 mile) run/walk event to benefit Marfa Food Pantry.
Entries are $20, and all proceeds from the event will go directly to Marfa Food Pantry to help feed the community. (You can register in advance here: https://bit.ly/47NBdIL.
The registration table will be located behind the Presidio County Courthouse on Washington Street in Marfa. Check-ins will start at 8 a.m., and shuttle service will be available from the courthouse to the race start. Registration will close at 8:50 a.m. prior to the event start.
The route will run from the Marfa Municipal Golf Course down FM 1112/Oak Street, a right onto Dean Street, a left onto Washington Street, and will finish behind the courthouse near the registration area. Two water stations will be set up: one near the middle of the route, and one at the finish.
Each entry is for a single adult or teen participant, but small children and pets are welcome to accompany an entrant for no additional cost. Costumes are also welcomed and encouraged. The hope is that the community will come out in force to show their support to help each other make it through the holiday season after recent disruptions to food support.
