Fort Davis
Do you have a sweetheart who is a work of art, a beauty in spirit and appearance, or at least amusingly ornery? You can honor them and improve your walls with paintings, drawings and photographs of local subjects by talented local artists.
“We have had some superb art work at our shows the past few years,” said Fort Davis Historical Society President President Rick Draheim. “I can hardly wait to see what West Texas’ generous artists bring us this year.” Artists can bring their work for take-in Thursday, February 12, or Friday, February 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Old Overland Trail Museum at 511 N. Fort Street, by Sleeping Lion Mountain.
All regional artists are invited. There will be a public reception and art exhibit on Saturday, February 14, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum. The show and sale is for one day only. Admission is free. A portion of the proceeds support local history and the museum, which is an attraction for nearly a thousand tourists each year. For further information contact Rick Draheim at 432-249-0453, between 10 a.m. and midnight.
