Jean Ann Wagoner Ragland, 87, of Alpine, Texas, passed away on February 6, 2026, at Odessa Regional Medical Center.

Jean was born on June 25, 1938, in Arlington, Texas, to Robert and Emma Wagoner. She fell in love and married Bobby Ragland in 1957, and together they made their home in Mansfield, Texas, before retiring to Alpine in 1980. Jean loved her mountain views and cherished the quiet beauty of Alpine, which she proudly called home for 46 years. She was a devoted member of the Alpine Church of Christ, where she found community and friendship. Her church family held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Ragland, and granddaughter, Sarah Celeste; her son, Kevin Mark Ragland, and grandchildren Courtney Sage and Conner Riley; her nephews Lynn, John, and Matt Day; as well as numerous friends and her beloved church family.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Emma Wagoner; her husband, Bobby Ragland; her sister, Emma Nell; and her mother-in-law, Dorothy Ragland.

Jean will be remembered for her strong spirit, deep faith, and devotion to her family, her church, and the West Texas landscape she so dearly loved.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Big Bend Regional Medical Center and Odessa Regional Medical Center for their kindness, compassion, and care.
