Pride Marfa returns to the high desert for its fifth annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, creativity, and inclusivity. The event brings a weekend of art, performance, and connection to one of the most distinctive cultural landscapes of the Chihuahuan Desert region. Pride Marfa will take place September 11 through 13, 2026, when the desert climate softens and the afternoons stretch comfortably into the night.

The timing further continues the momentum of LGBTQ+ celebrations across Texas following Austin Pride in August, extending the season of Pride deeper into the fall. Organized by a grassroots collective of friends and neighbors, Pride Marfa has grown into a unique celebration where queer culture shapes a vibrant weekend of contemporary art, film screenings, drag performances, and dance parties.

“In a time when the world feels heavy and uncertain, it’s more important than ever to come together and create a space that amplifies queer voices, celebrates our culture, our joy, and our freedom of expression,” said the event’s organizer, Prepney. “This year, we continue our legacy of inviting locals and visitors alike to gather in celebration of visibility, resilience, and the enduring power of community.”

“This festival brings together people from the surrounding region that spans hundreds of miles, creating a safe space for people of all backgrounds to come together in the historical landscape that is Far West Texas,” Prepney added.

Pride Marfa is currently seeking sponsorships and donations to support this year’s programming to ensure the continued growth and impact of this regional event. Artists and programming will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. See @pridemarfa on Instagram for the latest updates.
