Get ready to celebrate a century of independent local news at the Big Bend Sentinel Centennial, a weekend of music, art, conversation, and parties—Friday, June 19, 2026, through Sunday, June 21, 2026.

The marquee event is the Centennial Concert, scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the Saint George Hall in Marfa. The evening will be headlined by West Texas musical legend Jimmie Dale Gilmore, along with a cast of special guests. Ticket information is forthcoming.

The weekend’s activities will kick off Friday afternoon with a round-table discussion focused on current border issues, which will be free and open to the public.

Art and history will also be featured Saturday with the Stop-the-Wall Art Show. The sale will showcase posters, books, and exclusive merchandise from the Sentinel and regional advocacy groups.
