Lauren and Harrison King, together with partner Jack “Buck” Buczkowski and a group of investors, assumed ownership of Hotel Paisano on July 1.
According to a release from the new owners: “The team will restore the landmark property through a phased renovation that honors its original Spanish Revival architecture while thoughtfully preparing it for the next generation of guests. The first phase includes a new restaurant and bar, an expanded billiards room, and a refreshed fireplace lounge.”

Their restaurant, Meseta, is slated to open in early October 2026 with Brian Espinoza serving as executive chef.
“Subsequent phases will include guest room renovations, a revitalized retail experience, a new breakfast and lunch café, and a spa, with the full restoration expected to be complete by fall 2027,” the release stated. “The new ownership team extends its sincere gratitude to Joe and Lanna Duncan for their exceptional stewardship of Hotel Paisano and for entrusting them with the property’s next chapter.”
