The Presidio Municipal Development District is hosting a community “listening session” on recent long wait times at the Presidio-Ojinaga Port of Entry on Tuesday, July 28, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the PMDD office at 608 W O’Reilly Street, Suite D.
Area residents have recently posted concerns on social media and called Big Bend Sentinel with reports of multi-hour wait time and only one customs inspection lane being open, even during normally low-traffic hours on weekday afternoons.
The meeting will be chaired by Presidio Mayor John Ferguson and hosted by PMDD Executive Director John Kennedy. According to the PMDD, the district will “document how border delays are affecting binational commerce and Presidio’s local economy, then present those concerns to regional CBP leadership in El Paso.” Local business owners and residents are encouraged to attend.
