Lilia Nuñez Mediano, a lifelong resident of Marfa, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, in El Paso, Texas, following a recent illness. She was 70 years old.

Born on December 9, 1955, in Marfa, Texas, Lilia attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Marfa High School in 1974. She remained a devout lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life and a guiding light throughout her journey.

Lilia will be remembered for her quiet strength, gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She found joy in life’s simple blessings and touched the lives of all who knew her through her warmth, humility, and quiet compassion. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.

Even in passing, Lilia’s legacy of love continued through the gift of organ and tissue donation. Her liver was transplanted into a recipient from Dallas, Texas, while her other donations brought healing and hope to several more individuals. In her final act of generosity, she gave the precious gift of life — a beautiful reflection of the compassion, faith, and selfless spirit that guided her throughout her life.

Lilia is lovingly survived by her brothers and sister: Nick Mediano Jr. and wife, Liz, of El Paso; Ernesto Mediano and wife, Rose, of Lubbock; Adan Mediano and wife, Josie, of Odessa; Eva Gonzalez and husband, Joe, of Pharr; Lee Mediano of Marfa; and Omar Mediano and wife, Sandra, of Carrollton. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Lilia has been welcomed into the loving embrace of our Lord and reunited with her parents and baby brother. Her faith, kindness, and quiet example of Christian love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
