ALPINE — A Tarleton State University rodeo athlete has died from injuries sustained during a performance Thursday night at the S.A.L.E. Arena at Sul Ross State University, according to a university statement. SRSU identified the athlete as Alejandra Franco.
“SRSU Rodeo is deeply saddened to announce that a Tarleton State University athlete has passed from injuries sustained during the performance at the S.A.L.E. Arena Thursday night,” the statement read. “Our hearts are with her family, team and community at this difficult time.In honor of Alejandra Franco, the weekend’s events will continue as scheduled, and counselors will be present to support athletes.”
