The Marfa Shorthorns gave their Homecoming crowd an exciting night of football on October 2, defeating Immanuel Christian School 46–0 with strong offensive performances and relentless defense.

Miguel Rey sparked the scoring with a 30-yard rushing touchdown. Austin McGary added a 40-yard touchdown reception, and Bubba Marquez contributed a touchdown reception along with tough runs on the ground. Ayden Alvarez also helped fuel the Shorthorns’ scoring attack.

Marfa’s defense kept Immanuel Christian off the scoreboard. Fabian Marquez and Bubba Marquez made numerous tackles and repeatedly broke through the line to pressure the quarterback.

After two weeks off, the Shorthorns will return to action at home on October 23 against El Paso Leadership Academy. That game replaces the Fort Davis matchup, which Fort Davis forfeited because it did not have enough players.
