MARFA — Marfa Public Library’s annual Halloween costume contest and party creeps back from the dead on Saturday, October 31, in the library courtyard.

Expect spine-chilling tunes, ghoulish games, a haunted piñata, and frightfully good snacks (including lots and lots of pizza). Registration opens at 4 p.m,, and the costume contest, which is open to all ages, begins promptly at 4:30 p.m.

A supernatural panel of judges  — Robert Silva, Coach McWilliams and Caitlin Murray  — will crown the funniest, scariest and best homemade costumes in each age group: 0 to 4, 5 to 8, 9 to 12, 13+, and Group Costume. Every contestant gets a goody bag, and winners will earn prizes that are simply to die for.

Halloween legend Carlos Morales presides over the festivities. The party ends by 6 p.m., so all can head to the courthouse  — and beyond — for Trunk or Treating at the courthouse. Free and open to all!
