MARFA — Marfa’s rock ‘n’ roll quartet Baby Steps is back after a five-year absence to perform a
special vinyl release party for their brand new album, Palace Intrigue, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday,
May 3, at Maintenant (1825 Rabbits Road).
The show will be the band’s first since New Years Eve 2019, and in the time since, the band has
been in and out of the Marfa Recording Co. in Austin finishing the record while trying to avoid the pandemic.
The lineup for this show will be original members: guitarist/lead vocalist Chris
Hillen, guitarist J.D. Garcia and drummer Mark Scott, with bassist Michael Serva joining the
fold to take over for former bassist Gory Smelley.
Supporting bands for the show will be Marfa/Lobo heartthrob Adam Bork and Marfa-based Slug Hug, which also features new Baby Steps bassist Serva with Zona Mutante drummer Anthony DeSimone and Lucas Wynne. The event is free and open to the public
