Karyme Valdez, daughter of Auden and Adelina Valdez, graduated as valedictorian of the class of 2018 at Presidio High School. She was a member of many school organizations, including the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the Presidio High School Band. Karyme has earned more than 60 college credit hours throughout her four years in high school. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin this upcoming fall and major in accounting. Ivye Dolino, daughter of Belinda Dolino and Ian Dolino, graduated as the Presidio High School class of 2018 salutatorian. “I started high school in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to Presidio where the culture was entirely different and most people spoke Spanish, a language I was unfamiliar with. I had to adapt to the new environment. I did my best to learn Spanish, and successfuly did with the help of my newfound friends. Throughout my high school year, I was involved in the National Honor Society, National Technical Honors Society, Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering, STEAM, and Presidio Rocketry and Robotics. I was enrolled in both UTPB and TSTC college courses. After high school, I will be attending the University of Texas at Austin to study mechanical engineering. I hope to one day design rockets that fly to Mars and improve how we use our renewable resources.
