Prayer march at the Presidio County Courthouse

MARFA — This Saturday at noon, a prayer march will take place on all sides of the Presidio County Courthouse. The hour-long event is nondenominational, and all are invited to join a procession around the courthouse, with each stop along the way focusing on a different topic. According to the event organizers, prayers will be for community leaders, those employed to ensure public safety, the community as a whole, Covid-19 and all those affected by this pandemic, the healing of the nation and for peace.

Prayer leaders come from a variety of local faith communities and include: Pastor Gary Dill, Young Life leader; Pastor Connor Travis;  Pastor Ernesto Zubia; Rev. Michael Wallens; Isacc and Yazmin Benitez; and Pastor Charles Elmore playing the guitar. Patriotic songs and “Amazing Grace” may be sung by all.

The organizers ask that attendees wear masks, observe social distancing and leave political attire at home.
