Francisca “Kika” Molinar of Presidio, with her beloved family by her side, entered eternal life on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. She was 85.
Kika, as her family and friends called her, was born on June 8, 1935 in Presidio, Texas. She was a devoted member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Praying of the Most Holy Rosary was recited on Monday, November 23, followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Father Miguel “Mike” Alcuino serving as funeral celebrant. Kika was laid to rest in the Santa Teresa Catholic Cemetery.
Those serving as pallbearers were Jesus Manuel Molinar Sr., Ramon Ramirez, Emmanuel Brito, Clint Huffman, Jaime Ramirez, Jose Antonio Molinar, Jesus Manuel Molinar Jr. and Pedro Hernandez
Kika was most happy when she was surrounded by her family. Kika enjoyed cooking and graciously hosted many family gatherings. She was known for her famous tamales and biscochos which she lovingly made during the holidays and enjoyed giving them out to her loved ones. Kika was also a great seamstress, and she made countless bridesmaid dresses. Kika was employed with Mr. & Mrs. Manuel Manriquez Sr. for 20 years. Kika also pressed uniforms for many U.S. Border Patrol agents.
Kika never had kids of her own, but she raised her two nephews Carlos and Efrian and their sister Imelda who were very special to her.
Francisca “Kika” is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Paula Molinar, Cecilia M. Alvarez and Elvira M. Ramirez; and her brothers Luis Molinar and Guillermo Molinar.
Services for Kika have been entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home in Van Horn, Texas.
