Fort Davis library to sprinkle holiday cheer

FORT DAVIS — Everyone is invited to a special free music program offered by Friends of the Library on Saturday, December 14, at the Jeff Davis County Library in Fort Davis. 

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. there will be light refreshments and time to mingle over hot cocoa; at 5 p.m. music will be performed by the Guitar Ensemble of Sul Ross.  Local pianist, Lana Potts, will lead sing-a-longs to holiday favorites at 5:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. when the guitar group will conclude with more Christmas carols.

Marfa police host cookies and cocoa with Santa

MARFA — The Marfa Police Department toy drive continues with a Cookies and Cocoa with Blue Santa Claus on Friday, December 13, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the USO Building at 305 S. Highland.

Photos with Santa will be available as well as games, music, and prizes. The entry fee is an unwrapped toy for Marfa PD’s annual Operation Blue Santa. Toys also can be dropped off at the Marfa Police Department, and monetary donations are also accepted; speak to Lt. Nicole Fuentes for monetary donations.

Marfa Chamber sponsors ‘Holiday Shopping Crawl and Dance’

MARFA — The Marfa Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a “Holiday Shopping Crawl and Dance” on Saturday, December 14, at 6 p.m.

Participating businesses will be open for special holiday hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for all of your holiday shopping needs. Stroll through beautiful Marfa and enjoy festive beverages, travelling carolers, shopping, community and more. Afterwards, head over to Marfa Spirit Co. for a holiday dance featuring local DJs and live music.

Entry into the dance is one unwrapped gift for either children or adults. To sign up as a vendor or participating business for the shopping crawl, please email marfachamberofcommerce@gmail.com.
